Director of Photography
A fun shoot with slow motion, kids and mud! Props did a great job making a mud puddle where there wasn't one, and making it disappear when we were gone.
Shot on Weisscam, and Alexa.
Sysco is a giant food distribution company, and this was their first commercial. I worked with Bonesteel Films as the Director of Photography. We shot on Alexa, with ARRI Ultra Primes.
I directed and shot Death Valley 101. The project was challenging but tons of fun. I followed a team of 10 students as they took BMW Motorcycles through Death Valley. We battled heat during the day, cold at night, and one of the worst dust storms in the past 15 years, but I would do it all again.
Smart Furniture approached me to create a 2-part story, putting a creative twist on the company's customer-friendly polices. I adapted a script they created, and produced and directed the two spots.
This is the second of a 2-part story for Smart Furniture, putting a creative twist on the company's customer-friendly polices. I adapted a script they created, and produced and directed both spots.
This promo was shot primarily with a Canon C300. Due to a very unexpected delay, our interview started when the sun was up but ended after sundown. I had no choice but to keep pulling NDs, pola, and increasing the ISO up to 8000 just to get enough exposure. See if you can tell which interview shots were done at night with no lighting.
As a cinematographer, I like making my shots as good as possible. For me, it starts when it's shot. Maybe an ND Grad, or diffusion like Tiffen's Glimmer Glass, or the art direction of the project. Then comes color correction, which I have been working with since 2005. I currently use Davinci Resolve.
I only accept a few color grading projects a year, but I enjoy each one. If you'd like to talk to me about grading your project, just ask. My rates are reasonable.
Thank You was a special project produced by Life Care Centers of America. I directed Thank You, which was shot on Super 16 film. The complete set was created by my art director in a totally empty house.
Love Made it That Way was a special project produced by Life Care Centers of America. I directed the production, which was shot on one of the early RED One cameras.
